Abstract

A magnesium-base alloy, resistant to creep at elevated temperatures, has the following composition by weight:- .Al.2 to 10% .Mn.0.001 to 0.5% .Ca more than 0.5.and up to 3% .Zn.0 to 4% .Commercial Mg-the remainder.. The Cu and Si impurity contents should not exceed 0.5% each and the alloy may also include Fe 0.01-0.1%; Be up to 0.005%.
