A niobium-tungsten-tantalum alloy, resistant to high-temperature oxidation, has the following composition by weight:- .W.10 to 50%, .Ta.5 to 40%, .Mo.0 to 10%, .Ti.0 to 20%, total not more than 50% .Cr.0 to 20%, total not more than 50% .V.0 to 7%, total not more than 50% .Fe.0 to 5%, total not more than 50% .Ni.0 to 5%, total not more than 50% .Al.0 to 7%, total not more than 50% .Co.0 to 5%, total not more than 50% .Be.0 to 2%, total not more than 6% .Zr.0 to 5%, total not more than 6% .Hf.0 to 5%, total not more than 6% .Ba.0 to 2%, total not more than 6% .Th.0 to 2%, total not more than 6% .Y.0 to 2%, total not more than 6% .at least one rare earth. .metal.0 to 20%, total not more than 6% Nb and impurities as balance of at least 27%.
