Abstract
A ductile titanium alloy contains the alpha-promoters Al and Sn with or without Ag and/or In in total amount not over 12,5 atomic per cent, Al being at least 0,5% by weight, Sn being in the range 1-23% by weight, Al being under 3% when Sn is under 5% and Sn exceeding 5% when Al exceeds 3%, Ag and In not exceeding 10% and 3% respectively, the alloy also containing 0,25-18% by weight of one or more of Zr, Hf, Mo, V, Nb, Ta, Cr, Mn, Fe, W, Co, Ni, Cu, Si and Be, but not over 14% of Cr and/or Mn, not over 8% of Fe and not over 5% in total of Co, Ni, Cu, Si and Be and not over 2% of Si and/or Be, the balance being at least 50% by weight of Ti, apart from the usual impurities.
