Abstract

1,170,125. Copper base alloy. OLIN MATHIESON CHEMICAL CORP. Feb.28, 1967 [March 1, 1966], No.9385/67. Heading C7A. A copper base alloy consisting of:- Cu 69 - 80% Zn 15 - 29À3% Al 1À5 - 5% and Fe 0À2 - 1À5%, apart from impurities, and optionally As one or more of P in an amount of 0À02-0À1% each, Sb satisfies the following equation:- wt % A1 = 9 Œ 0À8 - 0À234 wt % Zn. Normal impurities are Pb, Sn, P, Mn, Ni and Si. The alloy may be hot worked (e.g. at 1500 - 1650‹F.) cold worked and optionally annealed at 1000 to 1200‹F.
