Driving-arrangements. - Gearing yielding a cyclically varying speed specially adapted for throstle spinning-machines comprises an epicyclic train 4, 8. 5 controlled by an eccentric wheel pair 32, 33. A driving pulley 1 is fast with one side gear 4, and another side gear 5 is fast on the driven shaft 6. Planet gears 8 are carried by a wheel 9 connected by a gear train 11 with a shaft 15. Upon the shaft 15 there slides a controlling member 19 having a cone clutch surface 17 and a toothed periphery. A coacting member 30 is connected through the eccentric wheels 32, 33 and ordinary wheels 35, 36 to a shaft 37 which is connected by a train 42 to the shaft 6. When the control members 19 is moved to the right, its periphery engages a fixed toothed ring 25, with the result that the wheel 9 is held fast and the shaft 6 is driven at a relatively low speed for winding the bottom of the bobbin. The member 19 is normally held in this position by a lever 23 pressed upon by a plate 26 which is moved transversely by suitable linkage as the ring rail indicated at 27 rises. The plate 26 has a notch through which the lever 23 drops, whereupon a spring 24 thrusts the clutch 17 into engagement with the member 30 bringing the eccentric gearing into action so that the shaft 6 is driven cyclically for winding the body of the bobbin. The trains 11 and 42 are of adjustable gear ratio and the shafts 15, 37 may be interrupted by reducing trains 16, 38.
