Abstract
201,402. Rothwell, S. R. July 27, 1922. Variable-speed friction gearing comprises driving and driven conical drums 6, 7 connected by a wheel 13 movable upon a shaft 14 supported at its ends in a double lever or frame 16. The frame 16 is supported at one side of the gear case 1 by pivots 17 and is pressed upwards by a spring 18 to keep the roller 13 in frictional engagement. The spring 18 can be compressed to disconnect the drive by a lever 21.
