Epicyclic gearing. - Toothed reducing-gearing which will not overhaul and is specially adapted for electrically - driven winches comprises planet gears W, V turning together on an axle a in a planet carrier B and meshing respectively with a fixed gear T and a gear U on the driven shaft R. The gears U, T may be of same diameter and differ bv one tooth only. The carrier B may be driven directly by the driving- shaft M, or a gear P on the shaft M may engage a third gear secured to the pair V, W. In the arrangement shown, the carrier B is driven at reduced speed by a pair Q, H which it carries driven from the gear P and running round on a fixed annular track S.
