Vacuum tubes. - A leading-in conductor for a filament or other electrode is provided with one or more auxiliary conductors to enable a large current to be carried through a seal of lead or other metal. The auxiliary conductors A<1> are secured to the main conductor A by clamping in folds D in the main conductor, or by a binding of molybdenum wire, and all the conductors are embedded in a seal B of lead. The conductor. A may be of uniform or non- uniform cross - section, for instance, as described in Specification 170,096.
