Abstract
301,827. Telefunken Ges. f³r Drahtlose Telegraphie. Dec. 6, 1927, [Convention date]. Vacuum tubes.-In a thermionic valve &c. having an indirectly heated cathode, electromagnetic effects due to the alternating current employed are avoided by the use of a conducting shield 3 in which the heating filament 2 is enclosed, the shield being either of solid material or of gridlike formation and being situated between the heater and the cathode 1. The filament 2 is connected at one end to the shield, the current being supplied by leads m, n connected to the shield and the filament respectively. The shield is passed outside the envelope so that a fixed potential may be applied thereto.
