Abstract

299,325. Telefunken Ges. f³r Drahtlose Telegraphie. Oct. 21, 1927, [Convention date]. Vacuum tubes.-In a thermionic valve having an indirectly heated cathode, the resistance wire 3 or other heating body, which may be heated by alternating current, is screened lrom the cathode 1 by a metallic tube 4 wherein the wire 3 is carried by glass or quartz beads 5. The control grid 6 is arranged in known manner about the cathode as a spiral. The tube 4 is preferably led outside the envelope at both ends so that different potentials may be applied thereto. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) states also that one end only of the tube 4 may be led outside the envelope. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
