Abstract

288,965. Soc. Anon. des Etablissements Industriels de E. C. Grammont et de A. Grammont. April 16, 1929, [Convention date]. Vaccum tubes. - Thermionic valves comprise a single filament 1, two anodes 4, 5 concentric around the filament and in alignment and two concentric helical grids 6, 7 of different diameters and overlapping so that one or both grids control the currents to both anodes, no connection existing within the tube between the electrodes. The valves may be used in superheterodyne circuits. Each grid may extend as shown under the whole of one anode and part of the other anode so that the current to each anode is mainly controlled by one grid but is also controlled to a smaller extent by the other grid, the extent of control by each grid depending on the number of turns of the grid within the anode. In a modification, one grid controls the current to one anode only. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also a modification in which the current to each of the anodes 4, 5 is controlled by one grid only, the two grids being of equal diameter and coaxial, each within the corresponding anode, and refers to the application of the valves to amplifying currents in several circuits in signalling. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specificaton as accepted.
