Addition to 314,332, [Class 39 (i), Electric lamps, Arc &c.]. [Class 39 (i).] The thermionic valve described in the parent Specification is modified by surrounding the anode A as completely as possible by a wire net or similar grid structure S which, as shown, may be connected directly within the valve to one of the filament leading-in wires or supports H, or a separate connection may be brought therefrom to the exterior of the valve in order that a constant potential may be applied thereto. The envelope is of non-circular or flattened cross section and, as in the parent Specification, is provided with an external control grid.
