Abstract

449,378. Thermionic valves. MALPAS, H. A., 332, Church Road, St. George, Bristol. Sept. 11, 1935, No. 25235. [Class 39 (i)] A thermionic valve comprises a grid electrode or electrodes wound on grooved or threaded porcelain tubes B<1> which are perforated to receive the grid posts A<1>, which grid posts protrude at the top of the tubes to receive a mica bridge or other insulated support for further electrodes, such as a screen grid. The grid posts A<1> are sealed into the pinch C<1>. A grid of rectangular cross-section may be supported upon four such supports. Insulating the turns of a grid in this manner is said to improve the control which it exerts on the anode current. U.S.A. Specification 1,937,202 is referred to.
