Abstract
541,919. Thermionic valves. M-O VALVE CO., Ltd., and RAMSAY, H. T. June 27, 1940, No. 10961. [Class 39 (i)] In gas-filled thermionic rectifiers of the type comprising a cathode, control grid and anode, the cathode 8 is surrounded by a shield 2 to which it is electrically connected, and which comprises a cylindrical casing closed at the bottom and having at the top an aperture 3 above which is disposed a solid plate 13 supported from the casing by metal rods 12. The control electrode 11 is disposed in the space under the plate 13 and its lead 9 passes through the casing in insulators 4, 6 and is encased by a quartz tube 10. The cathode 8 is a corrugated metal strip with leads 7 passing through the bottom of the casing by insulators 5. Specifications 444,362, 463,335, 494,404 and 502,534 are referred to.
