Abstract

661,750. Thermionic valves. EDISON SWAN ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. Dec. 28, 1949 [Dec. 30, 1948], No. 33120/49. Class 39 (i). In an electron discharge tube, a getter holder is connected across two arms attached to an interior metallic element of the tube', which may or may not be an electrode, the element shielding the remaining elements of the tube against the getter. Fig. 2 shows a metal shield which is mounted above the electrode assembly, and which is attached to support rods by leaves 11. The getter holder is secured across the two tabs 13 having a predetermined location, the part 9 shielding the rest of the assembly against the getter. The modification of Fig. 3 shows a stacked electrode assembly, anode 18 uppermost, from which the getter 21 is supported by two arms 20.
