Abstract

866,158. Cathode-ray tubes. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Jan. 6, 1960 [Jan. 8, 1959], No. 464/60. Class 39(1). An electron beam tube having an evacuated envelope in which at least a part, extending between the gun 30 and the target 18, includes a metal section 19, is provided with a vitreous dielectric coating 38 on the interior of the metal section and a conductive coating 37 over the coating 39 to form a distributed area capacitor in the region of the metal section. This capacitor is connected in the tube earth circuit to by-pass stray h.f. currents. As shown, the tube is an X-ray image tube with a window 14, photoconductive target 18 and scanning gun 30.
