Abstract

585,452. Thermionic valves. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd., GOODCHILD, F. D., and WOLSEY, W. H. Dec. 2, 1941, No. 15508. Addition to 585,449. [Class 39 (i)] In an electron discharge tube as set forth in the parent Specification, wherein (i) the cathode 6 and anode 7 are screened from each other by an apertured disc 3 passing outside of the envelope wall, a grid 5 filling the aperture and (ii) the anode, grid and cathode are assembled as one unit for mounting on the pinch, the lead 14 to the anode is fixed thereon and is connected to a cap 16, being sealed through the envelope after the electrode assembly is in place. The grid makes contact with the disc through flat springs mounted on the grid rods, all the electrodes being held in mica end plates. The anode is of box form with flanges 13 at the top, between which flanges the lead 14 is welded.
