Abstract

395,660. Cathode-ray tubes. INTERNATIONAL, GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Inc., 120, Broadway, New York, U.S.A.- (Assignees of Allgemeine Elektricitõts-Ges.; 2, Friedrich Karl-Ufer, Berlin:) March 22, 1933, No. 8672. Convention date, March 22, 1932. [Class 39 (i).] In a gas-filled tube an electrode, such as a disc 6 with a central aperture, is disposed between a Wehnelt cylinder 5 and a thermionic cathode 10 forming a concentrated source of electrons. The cathode consists of a nickel tube 7 containing a heating wire 8 separated by a partition 9 from a small cylinder 10 coated with barium oxide, the end, of the tube 7 being closed by a cap 11 having an aperture smaller than that in the disc 6. The disc is connected directly with the anode. Dimensions of the cathode and the distances between the electrodes are given.
