Abstract

504,107. Thermionic valves. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Dec. 28, 1938, No. 37628..Convention date, Dec. 29,' 1937. [Class 39 (i)] The anode of a valve with a metal envelope is made in two or more separate portions, connected so as to act as a single anode, in order to diminish the capacity between the anode and the envelope 1 of the electrode. In the arrangement shown, the anode is composed of two arcuate portions 16, connected by a conductor 19 and symmetrically arranged in the valve. The anodes are secured to mica strips 18 attached to opposed cup-shaped members 10 supported on rods 9. Within the members 10 are mica discs in which are mounted uprights 11 supporting a control grid 13, a screen grid 14 and a suppressor grid 15. The rods 9 and 11, are arranged in a plane half way between the anodes to diminish inter-electrode capacity. The leads are sealed through the base of the valve as described in Specification 448,746, [Group XI].
