Abstract
258,642. Edison Swan Electric Co., Ltd., and Percival, G. A. June 20, 1925. Vacuum tubes.-To minimize change of crystal structure in filaments for lamps and thermionic valves, a quantity of beryllium silicate, not exceeding 0.9 per cent, is incorporated in the tung sten oxide previous to its reduction. A colloidal solution may be prepared of a silicate and of beryllium oxide in such proportions that on fusion beryllium silicate is produced, the colloidal mixture being mixed with the tungsten oxide. Electron emitting materials such as strontium, calcium, and thorium may also be introduced into the filaments.
