Abstract

191,767. Mullard, S. R., and Mullard Radio Valve Co., Ltd. July 16, 1921. Vacuum tubes.-The control electrode of a valve is in the form of a grid bent around the axis of the electrodes, but only partially surrounding it, and the anode is of cylindrical or like shape, capable of being formed by bending a flat sheet about a, single straight axis. As shown, a grid G of zig-zag wire is bent around a straight filament cathode F so as to leave a longitudinal gap. The anode A consists of a cylindrical plate, open at the ends, with or without a longitudinal gap. The electrodes are mounted on conducting supports, and the leads pass through a single glass foot to a four-pin cap C.
