Abstract
251,620. Metropolitan-Vickers Electrical Co., Ltd., (Assignees of Mouromtseff, I. E.). April 28, 1925, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. Vacuum tubes.-A grid or control electrode is supported from both of two insulating end members closing a tubular anode which forms the central portion of the container. As shown, cathode leads are sealed through a re-entrant tube 4 in one glass closure member. A collar 11 supporting one end of the grid structure is clamped around a sleeve 5 integral with and surrounding the re-entrant tube 4. At the other end the grid is supported from a leading-in wire 17. A spring 19 connecting the grid and lead 17 is constructed so as to be elastic longitudinally but substantially rigid laterally. It may be made 'by rolling a slit plate to form a cylinder, which is then compressed endwise so as to cause the central longitudinally-slit portion to bulge.
