Abstract

194,882. General Electric Co., Ltd., Trippe, C. F., and Durdle, O. Feb. 4, 1922. Vacuum tubes.- In a thermionic or other discharge device a glass or insulating sleeve g is fitted inside a re-entrant stem a carrying a seal b for one or more filament or other electrode leading-in wires c, so as to insulate these wires from a leading - in wire f sealed through the side of the re-entrant stem and connected for instance to the anode. The sleeve fits looselv in the stem and is held in position by enlargements l on glass tubes j threaded on the leads c, the ends of which are knotted as shown. One or more vent holes may be provided in the lower end of the sleeve.
