Vacuum tubes.-A hollow insulator for a leading-in wire j of a thermionic valve or other discharge device has an inwardly-projecting extension formed as a narrow open tube d surrounding the wire, and doubled back to form a cellar e and a bell f, wbich are spaced from the tube and from the bulb b, and an outwardly extending portion a is sealed around the wire, and formed in part of enlarged diameter. The insulator is preferably in the form of a spindle-shaped globe or hollow prolate spheroid. Srecification 130,040 is referred to.
