345,424. Thermionic valves. XAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEX, 13A, Emmasingel, Eindhoven, Holland. Feb. 10, 1930, No. 4434. Convention date, July 29.. 1929. [Class 39 (i).] In an electron discharge tube or thermionic valve having an electrode secured to a collar surrounding a stem through which the leading-in wires of one or more other electrodes are led, the leading-in wire of the electrode secured to the collar is led out of the tube through a tube of insulating material arranged within the stem and sealed to the surface of the stem at a point spaced away from the end of the pinch through which the other leading-in wires leave the bulb. In the example, Figs. 1 and 2, a flattened cylindrical anode 12 is carried by wires 13, 14 secured to a collar 15 clamped around a stem 2 within a bulb 1. The anode leading-in wire 17 is connected to the collar 15 and led through the insulating tube 16 arranged within the stem to which it is sealed at one side of the pinch 3. The tube 16 may be used for exhausting the bulb during the process of manufacture.
