Abstract
173,363. General Electric Co., Ltd., and Trippe, C. F. Oct. 16, 1920. Vacuum tubes. - In a thermionic valve or other discharge tube, an electrode support is carried on the exterior of a cylindrical insulator, which is spaced from and mounted on the exterior of a re-entrant tubular stem. The arrangement prevents discharge between the support and the leads outside the bulb. The insulator h may be of glass, and is sealed to the re-entrant tube b. The support consists of a metal band f with arms e. In a modification, the tube is doubly re-entrant, and the insulator is supported around the tube by a spider-frame.
