Abstract

339,927. General Electric Co., Ltd., (Assignees of Patent-Treuhand-Ges. f³r Elektrische Gl³hlampen). May 18, 1929, [Convention date]. R÷ntgen - ray tubes; vacuum tubes. -A cap for a highpower incandescent lamp, tungsten arc lamp, X-ray tube, rectifier, &c. is made in two parts, one carrying the contacts and one secured to the bulb, separated by a block of insulating material to which they are secured by pressedin tongues. In the arrangement shown, a lamp bulb 9 is secured to a metal sleeve 7, into which fits an insulating block 4. Over the other end of the block fits a screw-cap 1 carrying the usual central contact 3. The sleeve 7 and cap 1 are separated by a ridge 5 on the block 4. Tongues 11, 12 are pressed out of the cap 1 and sleeve 7 to enter recesses 13, 14 in the block 4 and lock the cap and the sleeve thereto.
