Abstract
265,739. Grant, W. E., and Bean, M. B. Dec. 16, 1925. Holders.-The contacts 15 are rigidly fixed in the insulating block, and the block is pressed down by a spring 31 to engage the contacts with the lamp bulb 33; the block is divided longitudinally into two parts 9, 10 having registering recesses 12, 14 to receive the leads and projections 19 in the recesses 12 to grip the leads, so that the block functions as a cord grip when the two parts are screwed together, and the block is guided and secured by lugs on it sliding in longitudinal slots in an inner sleeve 23 rotatable in the outer casing 27, while the pins 34 of the bulb cap engage in the slots to position the sleeve and in the usual bayonet slots in the outer casing 27. The casing 27 is pierced to form a metal tongue 39, and when the lower shade-ring 36 is screwed down it forces the tongue into engagement with the slot in the sleeve 23, thereby preventing removal of the lamp bulb. Specification 243,311 is referred to.
