Abstract
503,546. Two-part couplings. VESTRIC LAMP CO., Ltd., and COOK, J. A. Oct. 9, 1937, No. 27505. [Class 38 (i)] A double - filament lamp is rendered capable of turning in its holder to bring either filament into operation by fitting the cap d of the lamp with a collar e on which the bayonet pins f are mounted, the collar being connected to the cap by rivets g passing through slots h. If the holder is of the type having two contact studs, the cap carries three contacts a, b, c, the contact a being common to the two filaments and always in engagement with one stud and the contacts b, c being brought alternatively into engagement with the other stud by turning the lamp. If the holder is of the centre contact type, the collar e has a lug on its edge that is bent over the face of the cap to engage one of a pair of contacts on the cap, the common end of the two filaments being connected to the centre contact. According to the Provisional Specification, the collar may be placed inside the cap, the pins f protruding through circumferential slots in the cap.
