Abstract
430,431. Multiple-filament electric lamps. ISMAY & SONS, Ltd., J., Roden Street Works, and ISMAY, J., 10, Warwick Gardens, both in Ilford, Essex. Dec. 19, 1933, No. 35760. [Class 39 (ii)] A cap for a multiple-filament lamp is provided on its end face 6 with a series of independent contact faces 8 arranged on one side of a diameter thereof and connected each to one end of an associated filament, and a single contact face 7 located on the other side of the diameter and extended to be of a circumferential compass substantially the same as that of the whole series of contacts 8 to provide a connection common to the other ends of all the filaments, in combination with a band 12, rotatably mounted on the cap and carrying radial pins 11 for effecting a bayonet joint with the usual lamp socket, positioning means, such as co-operating projections and recesses, operative between the band and cap being provided to locate them in positions of relative adjustment in a circumferential direction. Preferably the ring is split and provided with a projection 13, Fig. 3, to engage in one of a series of recesses 14, as described in Specification 427,809. The contacts 8 are so spaced that a contact pin can be located between them without contacting with either.
