Abstract
252,513. Heath & Sons, Ltd., S., Tongue, A., and Mason, A. E. April 17, 1925. Two-part couplings combined with electric switches. A pivotally mounted electric lamp such as a spot light comprises a bulb 1, reflector 2, universal ball mounting 4, the friction of which is adjusted by a rotary handle 3 in the manner described in Specification 243,228, [Class 75 (iii), Lamps, &c., Details of], and a switch and plug socket 17. The lamp is connected to the supply wires 20 by the plug 17, the pins of which engage bayonet slots in a sleeve 5. The plug is locked in the sleeve by a handle 25 screwed through one of the bayonet slots into the plug. The sleeve, together with the plug can be rotated in a casing 6. the rotation being limited by a screw 8 passing through a hole in the casing and a circumferential slot in the sleeve into a. block of insulation 10 which is thereby held stationary. Rotation of the, sleeve and plug causes the contacts 18 on the plug either to make or break contact with the usual spring-pressed contacts 12 in the block 10.
