Description

The proposed design of multi-filament incandescent lamps provides the possibility of alternately turning on the filaments of the lamp by screwing it into the cartridge.

In the central opening 1 of the socket 2 of the incandescent lamp (Fig. I), a leg 4 is inserted with a removable plug 3 (Fig. 2) on which a contact washer 5 (Fig. 3) and a ring 6 (Fig. 4) are worn.

When the lamp is screwed into the cartridge, as soon as the plug 3 contacts the central contact of the cartridge, the contact washer 5 will insert the filament 8 of the glow lamp into the electric circuit through the tooth 7 on it (Fig. I).

When the filament 8 burns out, it is necessary to screw the lamp deeper into the cartridge, then the pin 3 will go further into the tube 1 and the prong 9 of the plug 3 will close the glowing circuit of the lamp 10.

Thus, when one filament burns out, it is sufficient to rotate the lamp, after which the second and subsequent filaments of the lamp are automatically ignited.
