Abstract

242,298. British Thomson-Houston Co., Ltd., (Assignees of Hays, D.). Nov. 3, 1924, [Convention date]. Holders for screw-cap lamp bulbs comprise a socket 9 to receive the cap of the bulb and adapted to be secured to an insulating base 1 by ears 7 and a screw, which also secures a binding-post 17 in a recess 5. The base is divided longitudinally into halves having registering recesses, as shown in Fig. 4, for accommodating a terminal spring 26 for engagement with the central contact of the bulb, a spring 19 provided with a second binding-post 18, and a rotary switch block 23 adapted to complete the circuit between the springs 19, 26. The block 23 is formed as a sheet-metal box adapted to slide on to the key and embrace feather lugs 29, Fig. 5, on it, ribs 28 being pressed into the box to engage the lugs.
