Abstract

204,778. Rainsford, C. F. July 6, 1922. Holders.-In a bavonet-slot lamp-holder in which the bayonet pins M are pressed into the valleys of the slots when the two parts of the holder C, J are drawn together for locking the lamp, as by means of a screw ring I, the pressure which resists removal of the lamp until the parts C, J are separated is provided by a central rib G on the insulating block F, which bears on the top of the lamp, cap B. The rib preferably extends across the block F between the contacts II. The ring I may have a smooth outer surface so that it may not be readily moved after being tightly screwed home, and it may, in addition, be provided with a screw or other locking device. The Specification also describes a two-part holder, one portion of which, corresponding to the part C, is split and provided with tongues at its upper end engaging tongues in the portion corresponding to the part J. The two portions are secured together by pressing the split one into the other so that the two sets of tongues engage.
