Abstract
358,571. Discharge lamps. BRITISH TALKING PICTURES, Ltd., 193, Wardour Street, London.-(Assignees of Forest, L. de ; 318, East 48th Street, New York, U.S.A.) July 10, 1930, No. 20949. Convention date, July 13, 1929. [Class 39 (i).] In an electric gaseous discharge device adapted particularly for photographic pound recording the cathode 7 is recessed within a sleeve 6 of insulating, heat resisting, material such as porcelain which is encircled by an annular anode 9. The cathode is preferably made of tantalum or molybdenum with a polished end surface located near to the end of the tube 1. The insulating cylinder 6 is mounted upon the end of a glass tube 5 and overhangs the latter to form the recess to receive the cathode, the cathode leading-in wire being passed within the tube 5. The anode lead 11 passes through a tube 8 which extends from the stem tube 3, and a short platinum wire 10 connected to the wire 11 supports the anode ring 9 so that it is close to, but out of contact with, the insulating sleeve 6.
