Abstract
433,274. Discharge apparatus. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., Magnet House, Kingsway, London.-(Assignees of Patent- Treuhand-Ges. fur Elektrische Gl³hlampen; 11, Ehrenbergstrasse, Berlin) April 17, 1935, No. 11863. Convention date, April 20, 1934. [Class 39 (i)] [See also Group XI] In a metal cap for discharge devices such as lamps, having one or more contact pins insulated and protruding therefrom, each contact pin e fits into a hole d in the metal of the cap and is insulated from the cap by means only of a layer of oxide f formed on the surface of the metal before the pin is placed into the hole. Preferably the cap is made of aluminium, with a layer of oxide formed on it by electrolytic oxidation. The contact pins e are riveted within the holes and are made hollow to enable leading-in wires k to be passed therethrough and soldered to the outer end of the pin. The cap is secured to the envelope h by packing or cement g.
