Abstract
456,184. Discharge lamps. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., Magnet House, Kingsway, London.-(Patent-Treuhand Ges. f³r Elektrische Gl³hlampen; 11, Ehrenbergstrasse, Berlin) Aug. 19, 1935, No. 23298. [Class 39 (i)] The series resistance for a discharge lamp is formed as a coating on the exterior surface of the bulb, the resistance being covered by an insulating coating attached to the bulb. In the form shown, the bulb 1 is coated with graphite 4 terminating in carbon deposit 13, 14 the latter of which has a binding 6 connected by lead 10 to the electrode 3 separated from the other electrode 2 by an insulator 12. The resistance is enclosed by a cellulose coating 11 and terminals 17 18 are secured to the bulb by conducting cement 16, 19 respectively. In a modification the terminals 17, 18 are omitted.
