Abstract

412,051. Discharge lamps. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London.-(Assignees of Marvin, H. B. ; 121, Woodland Avenue, Schenectady, New York, U.S.A.) July 27, 1933, No. 21173. Convention date, July 27,1932. [Class 39 (i).] A neon tube 24, Fig. 2, for use with an arrangement for recording the severity of lightning discharges has flat semicircular electrodes 25, 26 supported by metallic stems 27, 28 connected to terminals 29, 30 on the base, the terminals being separated by insulation 31 which is adapted to form a high resistance in series with a lead 18 connecting a raised conductor 13 to earth. In a modification, Fig. 10, the neon tube 45 has two co-axial tapering electrodes 47, 48 connected across a resistance 52 in the lead 18.
