405,514. Discharge lamps. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., Magnet House, Kingsway, London.-(Assignees of Patent-Treuhand- Ges. fur Elektrische Gl³hlampen; 11, Ehrenbergstrasse, Berlin.) May 31, 1933, No. 15724. Convention date, June 18, 1932. [Class 39 (i).] In a luminous discharge tube of the type in which the starting of the discharge is facilitated by an auxiliary electrode at one end of the tube connected by a wire running along the interior to a conductor at the other end, the wire is enclosed in an insulating sheath. In one example a high resistance wire 8 insulated by a glass sheath 9 and connecting two auxiliary electrodes 6, is supported from the inside wall of the tube by a member 10. If the tube is curved the wire and its sheath may be wound into a spiral. The wire may also be enclosed in conical insulating bushes arranged so that the smaller end of every bush enters the larger end of the adjacent one.
