Abstract
398,693. Multiple-filament electric lamps. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., Magnet House, Kingsway, London.-(Assignees of Patent-Treuhand-Ges. ; 11, Ehrenbergstrasse, Berlin.) Dec. 19, 1932, No. 35980. Convention date, Dec. 22, 1931. Class 39 (ii).] In an electric incandescent lamp of the type provided with two filaments, one of which can be connected to or disconnected from the supply by means of a switch incorporated in the cap, the fixed contact of the switch comprises a ring 8, Figs. 1 and 2, provided with a cut-away portion or peripheral notch 9, while the movable contact consists of an arm 12 pivoted on a sleeve 6 secured coaxially with the cylinder in the insulating base 5 of the cap. The upper end of the sleeve is riveted over to form the central contact of the cap and to secure the contact arm 12 between two metal plates 10, 11. One filament 2 is connected by wires 7, 14 respectively to the central contact and metal shell 4 of the cap, the filament 3 being connected to the common return 14 and by a wire 13 to the ring 8. The circuit of filament 3 is closed by the arm 12 making contact with the ring at the ends of the notch 9. Specifications 248,631 and 275,532, [both in Class 39 (ii), Electric lamps, Incandescent], are referred to. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 321,360, [Class 39 (ii), Electric lamps, Incandescent].
