Convention date, Jan. 23, 1935. [Class 38 (i)] A holder for tubular lamps consists of two terminal blocks 5 each carrying a contact 11 to engage the lamp cap 4 and clips 8, 14 connected to pins 10, 13 to which the current supply is coupled, a hood 6 to cover each block 5 being fitted with conducting rods 20 that engage in the clips 8, 14 and connect the two blocks together. The exposed parts 19 of the rods 20 are insulated. The lamp contacts 11 are not connected directly to the clip 8 but to an aligned clip 9 which is bridged to the clip 8 by the rod 20, the contact 11 becoming live only when covered by the hood 6. Lamps are connected in line by the pins 10, 13 entering sockets on the adjacent holder, the lamps being electrically in parallel.
