Abstract

534,088. Muttiple-filament electric lamps. UTILITY ELECTRIC CORPORATION. Oct. 18, 1939. Nos. 28164 and 28165. Convention dates, Oct. 24, 1938, and Sept. 26, 1939. [Class 39 (ii)] [Also in Group XXXVII] In a mutiple-filament lamp having a centrecontact cap, one end of each filament is connected to the centre contact 2 and the other ends are connected to separate contacts 4, 5 of a rotary switch mounted on the cap. The contacts 4, 5 are mounted on an insulating ring 3 fixed to the cap 1 to which is connected a further contact 8 similar to the contacts 4, 5. The contacts 4, 5, 8 co-operate with an arcuate bridging contact formed by a wire 20 secured to the inner surface of a rotary operating ring H and are so spaced that by rotation of the ring the filaments may be switched in separately or simultaneously. The ring H is divided, the two parts being held together by inter-engaging members 11, 12. Projections 25 engaging the contacts 4, 5, 8 are provided to limit rotation of the ring to one direction.
