[Class 39 (i)] The space between the outer and inner bulbs of a lamp contains a support for the inner bulb consisting of a band or hoop of resilient wire bent so as to engage the inner and outer bulbs alternately. Two supports may consist of zig-zag wires formed into rings, and they may be arranged so as to make contact with the inner bulb along a uni-potential surface and float freely electrically, thus taking up the local bulb potential and eliminating electrolytic action between the glass and the metal. Porcelain beads may be threaded on the wires at points where they touch the inner bulb. In another form, Fig. 4, the supports 5 comprise zig-zag wires bent into annuli, their inner tips making contact with the inner bulb 1 whilst their outer tips 5b are bent alternately in opposite directions out of the plane of the annulus and touching the outer bulb 2.
