Vacuum tubes. - The electrodes, consisting of a filament 5 enclosed in a box-shaped grid and anode 6, are mounted on supports of different length so that the electrode structure is inclined to the axis of the supporting stem 4, for example, at an angle of 45‹ . The lowest point of the anode may be below the flattened part 7 of the stem. The supports 1 for the upper parts of the filament maintain the filament in tension. The filament may be made in the manner described in Specification 275,542.
