Abstract
302,418. Robinson, E. Y., Hubbard, E. J. E., and Metropolitan-Vickers Electrical Co., Ltd. Sept. 23, 1927. Vacuum tubes.- Electrodes and grids for vacuum tubes are made of wire gauze strengthened by welding the warps and wefts together at several points, preferably along parallel lines running at 45‹ to the warps and wefts. Fig. 2 shows such a piece of gauze welded along the lines 4, 5. The gauze so strengthened may be shaped into a cylinder, as shown in Fig. 1, and welded to supports 1, 1, preferably also at an angle of 45‹ to the warps and wefts. Other shapes of electrodes and grids are described.
