Abstract

261,915. General Electric Co., Ltd., and Smith, F. Nov. 27, 1925. Vacuum tubes. - In thermionic valves in which the cathode filament comprises two parallel straight portions 1, a spiral single-wire grid 10 and an anode 12 surrounding the filament are each indented longitudinally along the mid portions 17, 18 of their sides. The electrodes are all supported from a glass pinch, the anode being secured by wires 19 to supports 13 and the filament portions 1 being secured at the lower end by wires to a single support and lead and at the upper end by wires to springs 6 on a cross-piece 7 on a support 8. The filament portions may be in series instead of in parallel. Specifications 203,962, 239,736 and 240,944 are referred to.
