Abstract

334,298. Robinson, E. Y., and Associated Electrical Industries, Ltd. June 10, 1929. Vacuum tubes.-Two pairs of wires 10, 7, Fig. 1, respectively supporting the grid and anode and connected to wires secured within the pinch 2 are engaged at their upper ends by a bridge 16 of insulating material such as mica which is pro. vided with four holes to receive them, and a glass bead 11 has secured within it three wires of which the outer pair 12 are welded to the free ends of either the anode or grid-supporting wires, the central wire 13 being connected by a thin wire 14, Fig. 2, to the upper end or bight of the V-shaped filament (not shown). The wire 13 extends through the bead 11 and is connected at its lower end to a wire 3 secured within the pinch 2 and bent outwardly therefrom. The grid is of flattened tubular section, with its supporting wires 10 located in its major axis, and the anode may consist of two plates 15 welded to the outerwires 7. The mica bridge 16 is held in position by means of small V-shaped wires 17 welded upon the anode-supporting wires 7.
