Abstract

271,603. M-O. Valve Co., Ltd., and Cosgrove, C. W. March 29,1926. Vacuum tubes.-A biphase rectifier has two open - ended flattened cylindrical anodes 3, each enclosing a looped filament cathode 1, the cathodes being adapted to be connected in parallel, and all the electrodes being supported from a pinch 10. The anodes are secured to supports by angle pieces 7. The filaments are tensioned by spring wires 18 secured to supports 20 sealed into a glass bead 22 which is held by supports 23 welded to the anodes. In a modification the anodes are arranged with the wide sides adjacent, and instead of a common lead 12 for two ends of the filaments, separate leads may be sealed in the pinch.
