Vacuum tubes.-A cylindrical anode, in the form of an open or closely wound helical wire 5, surrounding a coaxial helical grid 6 and central filament 4, has one end extended to form a support and terminal passing through the wall or stem 1 of the bulb. The grid may be supported in a similar way by extending one end of the wire. The anode and grid wires may each be formed by welding. together or otherwise combining two wires to form a single unit. The filament supports 2, 3 may be flattened to produce a spring effect.
