465,954. Discharge lamps. QUARZLAMPEN GES. Nov. 18, 1935, No. 31859. Convention date, Nov. 26, 1934. [Class 39 (i)] [Also in Group XI] In a high-pressure, discharge lamp using metal foil 3 as a leading-in conductor to the electrode 4, the latter is supported independently of the foil by wires or strips 5 fused into the quartz envelope with the foil. The foil passes through a capillary tube 2 and may be bent round at the top, the wire lying round the bent part as shown in. Fig. 4 ; or the two ends of wire support are splayed as shown in Fig. 6. The wire is welded to the electrode or is squeezed in a tube attached to a ferrule 8 placed below the electrode. The foil may contact with the electrode or only with the support wire, which then also acts as a conductor to the electrode.
